Paul is an international businessman who has spent most of his career developing new environmental technologies to market take-off. He has business interests in Europe, North America and Africa and is mainly involved with small technology companies.
Paul was instrumental in the 1970’s of the founding of Airship Industries in London with Roger Munk - the relaunch of the modern airship industry. He was a co-founder of UK based Calorex Heat Pumps, now one of Europe’s biggest manufacturers of heat pumps.
In 2003 Paul patented a novel extraction method to recover high value proteins in oil seeds. This led to BioExx Specialty Proteins, which became a listed company on the Toronto Stock exchange with a market capitalisation of US$400m.
He then formed a company with Michael Dobell to develop Vernonia as a commercial oilseed crop in Ethiopia containing unique naturally epoxidised oils. They discovered and patented the use of Vernonia oil for the treatment of a number of skin diseases such as psoriasis.
Since 2015 he has been focused on steering the SonoChem technology to granted patent status in the United States and Europe – achieved in September 2019.
